5 Biggest Plastic Surgery trends for 2019

2019 is set to be the year of the necklift and body contour in the world of cosmetic surgery. This makes a change from 2018 where more than 28,000 procedures took place, most of which were eyelid surgeries and liposuction. Cosmetic surgery trends are constantly changing and evolving, depending on current styles and celebrity influence; who knows what the next ten years will hold? Here are the top five trends expected to take the plastic surgery world by storm in 2019:

1. Neck lift

A person’s décolletage is often one of the biggest indicators of their age, as sagging in this region can occur over time. A necklift is a type of surgery that tightens the skin under the chin, making it appear youthful and firm. It’s predicted to be an even more popular surgery in 2019 due to its long term results that anti-ageing creams simply cannot provide.

2. Fat freezing

Move over liposuction, slimming plastic surgery just got an upgrade. Fat freezing (or cryolipolysis) is a procedure that uses targeted suction to kill fat cells so that your body can expel them naturally. Studies have found it to be an effective treatment capable of reducing overall body fat by up to 27%, with very few adverse side effects. The non-invasive aspect of the procedure is attractive to many people who can return to work right after receiving the treatment.

3. More men will go under the knife

In 2018, men only made up 7% of the total cosmetic procedures performed and the world of cosmetic surgery was overpowered by women. However, this is a statistic that’s expected to change as more men are expected to get liposuction and rhinoplasties in 2019. This is a sign that plastic surgery is gradually being accepted as a unisex field that any gender can benefit from.

4. Dermal fillers aren’t going anywhere

Dermal fillers have been steadily rising in popularity and this is only expected to keep rising until 2030. Dermal fillers are incredibly versatile and they have the ability to make features look fuller and plumper; the most popular use of fillers is to make lips appear larger, but they can also be used on other parts of the face to smooth wrinkles and add definition.

5. Breast reductions

The trend for having larger breasts seems to have slowed, with more people focusing on shape and firmness of the breasts instead of the size itself. Many people are set to undergo breast reduction surgeries in 2019, in order to give their chest a more natural yet lifted appearance.
