The Revolutionary Role of Platelet Rich Plasma in Healing and Skin Rejuvenation

33

More and more people are turning to Regen PRP for facial rejuvenation, enticed by the idea of drawing on their body’s own natural resources. Platelets in the blood play a fundamental role in the body’s natural wound-healing response, and the role of platelet-rich plasma in skin rejuvenation, either standalone or in conjunction with procedures such as laser and injectables, is gaining a big following among aesthetic practitioners.

What Can Regen PRP Treat?

As well as being used as a primary procedure to correct fine lines and tighten the skin, Regen PRP is used to complement other facial rejuvenation procedures such as dermal fillers, laser resurfacing, or anti-wrinkle injections.

PRP injections are known to promote fibroblasts, which can be useful when prepping skin for surgery, as well as after surgery to help the healing process and reduce scars.

What Does Regen PRP Treatment Involve?

PRP is used to explain blood plasma with a higher absorption of platelets than the patient’s baseline. Platelets are elements of blood that are necessary for tissue repair and blood clotting. These absorbed platelets have unique proteins that are important in the regeneration and repair of tissues and starting new connective tissue repair and blood vessel formation. This stimulates hyaluronic acid production and new collagen, creating a youthful look.

Treatment is less than an hour and starts by taking two small tubes of blood from the patient. The blood is first centrifuged to absorb and disconnect the plasma and cells. Then the plasma is injected into the desired area in tiny amounts using a gaunt needle.

There may be some swelling and bruising at the injection points after the procedure; however, this usually diminishes overnight.

Treatment results take about two to three months for full effects to become noticeable; however, enhancement in tone, skin hydration and texture is usually noticeable in just a few weeks.
